I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Bemidji State University in 1998 with an emphasis in both early education and art, graduating with honors. I worked full time as an early elementary teacher at a Catholic School and at a public school until 2021. In 2019 at the start of COVID I felt I was called to begin a new career path and entered the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. I recently acquired my Master of Science degree, graduating with top honors. I participated in two residency programs, one online and one in Florida. I have also completed a one-year internship program through Stellher Human Services Outpatient Program in Bemidji, MN.

I was inducted into the International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society, Pi Chapter in 2021. I am also a member of the MAMFT and AAMFT. In 2020, along with my husband, I was nominated to represent Lake of the Woods County in the Red River Valley Emerging Leadership Program through the University of Minnesota.
