SMS, email and online communication tools are for administrative coordination only and are not monitored in real time.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or call 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline immediately. Do not use SMS or email for urgent or emergency clinical needs.

You may opt in to receive electronic appointment notifications by:

• Providing your phone number or email during intake or registration; clients are responsible for notifying Stellher Human Services if their phone number changes or is no longer under their control
• Signing consent forms for electronic communications; or
• Verbally authorizing electronic notifications.

Consent to receive electronic notifications is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving services.

After you send STOP, you may receive one additional message confirming your opt-out request.

• Messages received after business hours, weekends, or holidays may not be reviewed until the next business day.

Risks of Electronic Communication

While Stellher Human Services takes reasonable safeguards to protect confidentiality, absolute security of electronic communications cannot be guaranteed. Stellher Human Services will make reasonable efforts to limit electronic communications to the minimum necessary information. While electronic communication can be convenient, clients should be aware that:

• Electronic communications may not always be secure.
• There is a risk that messages could be intercepted, misdirected, delayed, or accessed by unauthorized individuals.
• Emails and text messages may become part of the client’s medical record.
• Electronic communication should not be used for emergencies or urgent situations.
• Federal law protects the confidentiality of substance use disorder treatment records under 42 CFR Part 2. Electronic communications may increase confidentiality risks for individuals receiving protected substance use disorder services.

By consenting to electronic notifications, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

If you are consenting to services for a minor, you confirm that you are the
legal parent and/or guardian with authority to consent.

Communications for minors will be directed to the parent or guardian unless
otherwise authorized.
