EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Shannon Smith, a licensed independent clinical social worker began her journey in mental health as a field counselor in Utah in a wilderness therapy program at the turn of the century and never looked back. She received her undergraduate degree in the arts from the University of Utah and proceeded to get her master’s in social work from the University of Montana. Throughout her experience, she has participated in Ecotherapy, Milan style therapy, Existential therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She is also trained in mindfulness, yoga, tai-chi, and qigong

She has worked with children, families, and individuals for 9 years, formulating treatment plans, diagnosing, and conducting ongoing assessments. She provides feedback and consultation, employing a Strengths Perspective and utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Arts and Crafts in Therapy.
