Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant

Stellher Human Services is seeking an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant.

The ECMH Consultant will provide mental health consultation for staff and families through MAHUBE-OTWA Community Action Partnership. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interact with families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Promotes mental health, social and emotional well-being, and overall health.
Team with MAHUBE-OTWA site coordinators and mental health/disabilities staff on a regular basis and other management team members as needed.
Provide mental health consultation for staff and families in a regular, timely and effective manner.
Implement strategies to identify and support children with mental health and social emotional concerns.
Help parents and staff understand mental health and access to mental health interventions.
Provide individual and group opportunities for parent education on topics such as substance abuse, behavior guidance, trauma-informed care, and understanding the results of diagnostic and treatment procedures.
Maintains detailed logs, reports and other required documentation on services provided on Child Plus software (or provided software).

Master's Degree in one of the behavioral sciences preferred.

Minimum of one of the following required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and 2000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to recipients with mental illness or substance use disorder required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and has completed an internship/practicum with direct interaction with adult or child clients.
  • Has 4000 hours of work experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with a mental illness or substance abuse disorder.
